The gendarmerie and the fire brigade intervened twice on the Route Nationale in the Quartier d'Orléans on Tuesday, April 9, for two fatal accidents involving scooters.
The first accident occurred at 11:30 am The 25-year-old scooter driver died on the scene, despite prompt intervention by medical teams.
According to the first elements of the investigation, the scooter passed a line of cars on the left of the roadway and did not see that the truck in front of it was making a maneuver to turn left in order to enter a parking lot.

The second accident occurred at the exit of Quartier d'Orléans, near Belle 
Plain, around 19 p.m. It is a frontal impact between a two-wheeler and a van. The latter performs a maneuver to turn to the left. The driver does not see the scooter coming in front of him. The collision is inevitable. The young Saint-Martin from France, 23 years old, died at the scene of the accident.
According to our sources, the driver of the van was under the influence of alcohol. He was taken into custody for manslaughter.

The gendarmerie is renewing its instructions regarding caution with regard to two-wheelers. The two tragedies that occurred on Tuesday must be a collective awareness of the behavior of road users.
Note that yesterday morning, a third traffic accident occurred, again and again in Quartier d'Orléans, involving two vehicles in frontal impact. The circumstances of the accident are not yet known.
