An operation to control a drinking establishment in the Quartier d'Orléans was carried out during the night from Friday 30 to Saturday 31 October within the framework of the Territorial Operational Committee against Fraud (COTAF).

Acting at the request of the Public Prosecutor and in the presence of the Director of the Office of the Prefect, the services of the National Gendarmerie, the Border Police and the territorial unit of the Directorate of Agriculture, the food and forests have intervened on an establishment that does not respect the closing times imposed on bars and restaurants.

The services noted several breaches of the regulation of drinking establishments, sanitary hygiene and suspicions of concealed work. As part of this response, a loaded handgun was also discovered. In addition, the establishment operated on the model of a discotheque although they have been closed nationally since March. Finally, the non-compliance with essential barrier gestures during this period of the fight against COVID was noted.

The establishment was immediately closed and an administrative procedure against it is being carried out in addition to the judicial investigations. At the same time, a schedule overrun and non-compliance with barrier gestures were noted in a neighboring establishment. A formal notice to the manager was made by the National Gendarmerie on Saturday, October 31. An administrative procedure will also target this second establishment. The prefecture's services recall that in this period of the fight against COVID, the closure of drinking establishments is set at midnight and discos are currently closed. In addition, only the respect of barrier gestures, in particular the wearing of a mask, today makes it possible to limit the circulation of the virus in our territories and to avoid total containment. The mobilization of all on this point remains necessary.
