The Friendly's Summer Beach Tennis Tour 2023 continues for our Saint-Martin players with the 8th and penultimate stage of the summer tour before the French Championships in Palavas.
Another very nice stopover on the large beach of the booksellers of Pornichet with a well-established organization of the French Tennis Federation and a superb team of caring and dynamic volunteers. Last Friday, the youngsters braved difficult weather conditions to complete the U18 youth tournament. Supporters and parent supporters inflated the competitive spirit of the players representing the colors of Saint-Martin. Alexandre Thiant and his CDF partner Shetone Covini (HBT GUA) won the bronze medal. Jules Lamort and Louis Bepoldin take fourth place. The sky showed some lull for the two Senior FFT BT 2000 tournaments. In women's doubles, Amélie Thiant associated with Myrtille Koumba (BTM MAR) left with the bronze medal. Only one match lost against the Arnoult / Bodin pair who won the tournament. Laurence Delaporte associated with Dorothée Bénard (3B Réunion) climbed to 14th place. In men's doubles, Alexandre Thiant and Shetone Covini reached 13th place. Finally, in FFT 250 women's doubles, Delphine and Cécile Martinez (TCISM KKO) reach 4th place. In men's doubles, Jules Lamort and Quentin Finel (IDF) took 6th place. The summer will have been particularly intensive for Jules Lamort (12 years old U14) and Amélie Thiant (15 years old U18), they were both selected by Jérôme Maillot, FFT DTN High Level Beach Tennis manager and the federal staff (Rodolphe Boyeldieu, Ugo Quilici and Régis Courtois) to participate in the 14-day federal U18 U5 course in Agen from July 31 to August 4, 2023. These two licensed players from Friendly Caribbean Beach Tennis will have given everything to improve their performance. The best adult pro players were also on training alongside the young U14 and U18 hopefuls. Jérôme Maillot's objective is to guide the new generation to the top level and have the best performing French teams possible to win even more titles and medals. _VX
