HEALTH: Olivier Véran does not want to "go back on the vaccination obligation" in Saint-Martin

Senator Annick Petrus challenged the government the day before yesterday on the vaccination obligation of nursing staff in Saint-Martin during an oral questioning session. She shared a memo distributed by the management of the Louis-Constant Fleming hospital center indicating "an internal reorganization".

“Operative activities are limited, the surgery department is closed,” she said. She reported to the government that "the Saint-Martinois feared going to the hospital as long as they were aware of the degradation of the care, that the population was afraid to call on the 18th because they do not know if she will find an answer ”. Annick Petrus thus asked the government "to adapt the law". “It seems essential to me,” she insisted.

The Ministry of Solidarity and Health affirmed that it "will not go back on the vaccination obligation". He justified himself by specifying that “the vaccination obligation is almost complete. At the Guadeloupe CHU, 85% of nursing staff are vaccinated, more than 95% at the Basse-Terre hospital center. Last week more than 90% of the staff at the Louis-Constant Fleming hospital center were vaccinated last week ”.

For the Minister, "the differentiation of the territories should not be the differentiation of risk-taking for the population".
