Economy: LVMH buys the Belmond group!

0

On Friday, December 14, the French group of companies LVMH, today the world leader in the luxury industry, announced the acquisition of the Belmond hotel chain for $ 3,2 billion.

The Belmond group, formerly called Orient Express, which was founded 40 years ago with the Cirpina hotel in Venice, is now present in 24 countries and offers, in addition to a very high-end hotel, safaris , river cruises and luxury train travel.

Belmond has two hotels in the Caribbean, the very exclusive Cap Juluca in Anguilla and the prestigious La Samanna hotel in Terres Basses.

Let us hope that the presence of the LVMH group in exceptional hotels such as the Samanna will strengthen the visibility of our island with affluent customers.
