Arriving in Saint-Martin in 2002 as a contractual teacher in mathematics at the college of Mont des accords, Jean-Luc ELICE very quickly understood the importance of giving meaning to learning through the planning of pupils and children of Saint-Martin. Martin.
Jean-Luc ELICE became a school teacher in 2005 and in 2008 took over the presidency of the coordination association USEP Iles du Nord. With his team, they will promote sports practice as a resource for learning in the various school disciplines. Convinced that in order to train the future Saint-Martin citizens of tomorrow, the pupils had to be actors and engaged in all educational actions. The USEP Iles du Nord has always fought for the Saint-Martin sector to promote education in children's initiative, empowerment and engagement.
This is how several projects have emerged: “Tutoring, sport and disability” for the consideration of students with special needs, the “USEP children's congress” for the transmission of the values of the Republic, kindergarten has also found its account with the “Pti tour USEP Maternelle”, “Run to Paris 2024” for the transmission of Olympic values. The schools of Saint-Martin and Saint-Barthélemy have also actively participated in national actions: football at school, basketball school, Olympic and Paralympic week, Olympic day, National day of school sport under the leadership of the association of coordination.
