Fish Day 2018 / Sunday May 6, Cul de Sac Bay: Tradition at the heart of the festivities!

0

The community of Saint-Martin is organizing its traditional Fish Day, this Sunday, May 6, 2018, still in the Cul de Sac Bay!

President Gibbs and his team wanted Fish Day to take place in Cul de Sac Bay as usual, despite the passage of Hurricane Irma which damaged the site and despite the Sargassum algae which have been failing on the North East coast for a few days. A major bay cleanup has been done by the community and the algae are removed every morning.

Thus, the celebration will take place from 9 a.m. to 20 p.m., in a friendly atmosphere, with the opening of the festivities, the traditional tribute to the missing fishermen of Saint-Martin (9:30 a.m.). There will also be many fish stalls for breakfast and lunch.

Under the theme Family Fun Day, the community also provides entertainment for children and music throughout the day. The island's musical groups and singers will follow one another on the Fish Day stage, for a 100% Saint-Martin concert. The party will end at 20 p.m.

Fish Day 2018 version will be a time of sharing and tradition. Come in large numbers, Sunday 06 May 2018, in Cul de Sac, to live a beautiful moment of conviviality with friends or family.

The program :

 9h30: Speech and official ceremony

11h: Musical entertainment by the Gunslinger Steel Band

From noon to 20 p.m .: The traditional Blowing of the Conchshell, the animations, the Fish Day Parade with Brass Band (New generation), the musicians of the Paul Emmanuel School of Music, The Jolly Boys, Larich, Boombastic and the group Musicology.
