Violence against women: Let’s break the silence

0

As every year for the past 7 years, the Family Allowance Fund of Guadeloupe and Saint-Martin (CAF) organized in partnership with ALEFPA – le Manteau the “Brisons Le Silence” event as part of the international day of struggle against violence against women and Parenthood Weeks.

This year, around forty women victims of domestic violence were invited as a priority to participate in this 6th edition of Brisons le silence. This action, which offers a day of well-being to these women marked by life, also makes it possible to raise awareness and inform them about the brutal and silent consequences of domestic violence and about the existing systems so that they are supported and accompanied in their process. healing and reconstruction. With clinical psychologist Arlène Jeffry as the godmother of the event, the 6th edition of Brisons le Silence offered women various self-centered workshops: massage, makeup, foot care, photo session to reclaim their image without forgetting the workshop information with the Maison de Protection des Familles and Trait d'Union France Victimes 978 and discussion groups to promote expression in a secure and warm environment. A breakfast and lunch were prepared by the organizing team bringing together the wonderful employees of CAF represented by Valérie Martineau and those of the ALEFPA – le Manteau association represented by Audrey Gil. Thanks to this event which is full of generosity, kindness and sisterhood, the women invited were able, for a day, to take time for themselves and taste again the simple pleasures of life such as sharing a friendly meal together in a pure spirit of solidarity. With a long-lasting partnership network, each edition of Brisons le Silence also highlights emergency aid for victims of domestic violence by recalling CAF's commitment to victims of domestic violence while creating a real dynamic of prevention, support and help at a time when the numbers are increasing on the one hand and when speech is being freed on the other, therefore at a time when victims need it most. _VX

New help from CAF for victims domestic violence

The Law of 28/02/2023 creates universal emergency assistance for victims of domestic violence (AVVC). This system came into force on November 28. This is a legal service which consists of supporting victims of domestic violence. This assistance may take the form of reimbursable or non-refundable assistance, depending on the financial and social situation of the victim. It is subject to the production of one of the following supporting documents: Filing of complaint or hearing report, report sent to the public prosecutor or protection order issued by the family affairs judge (JAF). Access to the request for this aid as well as the complete eligibility conditions are on the caf.fr website in the “Personal life” and “Life accidents” sections. The online process is secure and confidential. This assistance complements CAF's service offering for victims of domestic and intra-family violence, which has been available since 2021 through the Separation Pathway.
