As part of the 2017 disability week, the National Education service organized, on Friday March 24, on the beach of Galion, with the partnership of the USEP North Islands Association and the collaboration of the Collectivity of Saint-Martin, the 3rd aquatic games for the students of the Localized Units for School Inclusion (Ulis). For information, the Localized Units for School Inclusion are devices intended for the education of pupils with disabilities in the first and the second degree. Law n ° 2013-595 of July 8, 2013 of orientation and programming for the overhaul of the school of the Republic introduced in the education code, the concept of inclusive school and commits all actors in a new conception of the education of pupils with disabilities.
This sports meeting is part of the “Tutoring, Olympism and Handicap” project, which aims to strengthen the bond between students to promote better inclusion of students with disabilities. Under the benevolent gaze of the Inspector of National Education, Dominique Boyer, the students of the 6 Ulis-écoles de Saint-Martin, the Ulis de Soualiga, and the young people of the Tournesol association took great pleasure in water with their companions. Each Ulis student was accompanied by a friend from a regular class to complete the different challenges offered by each workshop. The students also took part in an ecological hike, for RUN TO PARIS 2024, led by the Saint-Martin Extrême Runners association. We congratulate all the student guides who took their role of tutor very seriously. The president of the Saint-Martin Extrême Runners association, Andy Armongon, presented medals to the 150 accompanying students. The Ulis school, Ulis college and the young people of the Tournesol association also received their medal for their performance by the accompanying students.
