This device initiated by the Collectivity of Saint-Martin as part of its Youth policy gives young students the opportunity to return to Saint-Martin during the summer break and to acquire professional experience within the territorial administration.

Each year, the Collectivité de Saint-Martin welcomes students to its administrative services. Through this system, the Collectivité allows young people aged 17 to 25, from the Première level to the Master I level, to obtain a job during the summer holidays in the territory of Saint-Martin. The Collectivity finances the Vacations Jobs scheme with the help of the European Social Fund (15% Collectivity - 85% ESF).

This year, the Collectivity was able to recruit 123 young people over two periods of activity: a first period from July 06 to 31 having hosted 59 vacation jobs and a period from August 03 to 28 welcoming 64 people. These young people are domiciled in Concordia, Saint-James, Sandy-Ground, Quartier d'Orléans, Agrément, Grand-Case and Colombier and are assigned to various departments of the Community, like the Department of Maternal Prevention and child within the Solidarity and Families Delegation, the Department of Financial Affairs and Public Order, the Youth Department and the Sports Department or the Department of Employment, Learning and Vocational Training. Some of the students were also assigned to the satellites of the Collectivity, the Interprofessional Consular Chamber of Saint-Martin (CCISM), the Tourist Office and the Louis-Constant Fleming Hospital Center. This device initiated by the Collectivity of Saint-Martin as part of its Youth policy gives young students the opportunity to return to Saint-Martin during the summer break and to acquire professional experience within the territorial administration by exchange of remuneration. Their presence in the services is particularly appreciated during this summer vacation period. President Daniel Gibbs and his First Vice-President Valérie Damaseau congratulate these young recruits for their involvement and salute the work of the management of the Collectivity who prepare each year for the arrival of Vacations Jobs and allow them to integrate various services to the public.

Bringing young people from St Martin during the holidays is good. But what quality summer jobs are offered to those who stay in school here all year round and who cannot leave for two months?
