The Zika epidemic is not weakening in our territory: the number of clinically suggestive cases - recorded in the last two weeks - is on the rise, according to the latest epidemiological bulletin from the Institute for Public Health Surveillance (InVS).
“This new upward trend will be confirmed in the coming weeks.” Since the emergence of the virus, 2085 clinically suggestive cases have been identified in city medicine, said the institute. A new pregnant woman was infected compared to the last assessment (20 women in total).
Note that only one neurological complication was reported last April. In Saint-Barthélemy, the number of suggestive cases is also increasing, totaling 595 cases since the appearance of the virus. _EH
