The Senate adopted last Wednesday a bill of the National Assembly relating to the regulation, the accountability and the simplification in the sector of the particular public transport of people. On behalf of the European Democratic and Social Gathering (RDSE) group, Senator Guillaume Arnell spoke in general discussion. On this occasion, he recalled that services like Uber are nonexistent in the Northern Islands. “Saint-Martin, like Saint-Barthélemy, having full competence in the matter, these communities are excluded from the system, as is clearly emphasized in amendment No. 54.” Mr. Arnell also mentioned that the regulation of the sector must be “privileged in order to pacify the current situation”. _EH
