Like the French side and in order to prepare for the 2021/2022 tourist season with a satisfactory level of health security, the Minister of Health, Omar Ottley, after consultation with the socio-professionals who manage the establishments  of the festive and night life, has decided to set up the health pass in Sint Maarten from this Friday, October 29.

Clients will need to have a complete immunization schedule or a negative test less than 48 hours old. Note that a laboratory located in Simpson Bay will be open until 23 p.m. for people wishing to be tested.

The Minister stressed the importance of respecting health protocols and thorough screening, requiring people to prove that they are fully vaccinated or to have proof of a negative Covid-19 test result in order to enter establishments dedicated to parties.

The establishments which will set up the health pass will be able to derogate from the rules related to Covid-19. Thus, the operator can, on his own initiative, lift the wearing of a mask in his establishment and no longer apply the rules of social distancing. _AF
