ROAD SAFETY: Dutch police will intensify checks for the end-of-year holidays

As the year draws to a close, Dutch police will step up checks to ensure the safety and well-being of the population during this busy holiday season.

Vehicle checks have already been carried out on a large scale and resulted in the issuance of several fines for various infractions. A firearm was also discovered in a vehicle. Its owner was taken into custody.

Before Christmas, the Sint Maarten police will also take radical measures to remedy annoying, abusive and dangerous parking in the Front Street area and its surroundings. Motorists are strongly advised to respect parking regulations and to refrain from parking anywhere or risk having their car impounded! _AF
