The Ministry of Defense is organizing until May 22, a YouTube competition to interpret the Marseillaise. Entitled "Chante ta Marseillaise", the competition aims to reaffirm the values carried by the French national anthem by allowing young people to reclaim it. Many participants are expected in Saint-Martin!

Internet users aged 18 to 25 are invited to interpret the first verse of the Marseillaise in video, in French and without changing the lyrics, and to post it on their own YouTube channel. All musical styles are accepted. They must then complete a registration form available on the website of the Ministry of Defense and return it to the address chantetamarseillaise2016@gmail.com. A jury will identify the ten best videos and then select three winners. The videos will then be visible on the ministry's YouTube channel.

The winner of the competition will win a sports camera. The second will be able to follow an initial training in video lasting five days at the Defense Communication and Audiovisual Production Establishment (ECPAD). The third will embark on a French Navy vessel for up to a week. The three winners will also win seats to attend the parade on July 14, 2016.

The official announcement of the three winners and the award ceremony will take place on June 21, the day of the Fête de la Musique.

This action is part of the program "2016, year of the Marseillaise", decided by the President of the Republic to promote and reaffirm the values of the Republic through the French national anthem. Throughout the year, the Ministry of Defense is mobilized through fifty cultural, scientific and educational actions around the Marseillaise with the desire to maintain and animate the inseparable links between the Nation, Defense and youth. _AF
