Saint-Martinois in isolation after the passage of Irma, will be able to benefit from the continued support of the Department of Guadeloupe with the Collectivity of Saint-Martin. 

After welcoming elderly or disabled people and sometimes some young people, at Pôle Caraibe airport in the aftermath of the hurricane, it is now a matter of continuing on site in Saint Martin to assess the needs of this fragile population.

Since the beginning of the week, a team of departmental social workers has been on the island to support the agents of the Community.

This team, made up of five local officials (social workers, nurses, doctors, psychologists) intervening on site, in rotation for 5 weeks, will have the mission of supporting and strengthening the services of the Solidarity and Family Pole in its assessment missions. medico-social and care for Saint-Martin residents still suffering from isolation and lack of social care, especially the elderly and the disabled.

The mission thus seals the agreement between the two communities for the implementation of the action plan following the passage of the hurricane.
