The identity of the body found in a car drowned in Philipsburg Bay on January 23 has been confirmed: it is R. Brous. He was discovered in the car (BMW) he had rented and in which he was reported missing. DNA samples had been taken by the Sint Maarten police and the recent results confirmed that it was this man, an American tourist who had stayed on the island in January 2010. His disappearance had been reported in part French.
The cause of his death remains unknown, said Sint Maarten police in a press release. The evidence gathered by the investigators does not allow to affirm that it is a criminal act.
