Chickenpox: new increase in cases

0

The chickenpox epidemic has picked up strength in Saint-Martin, after a calm period, according to the latest bulletin from the Regional Health Agency (ARS) Guadeloupe / Iles du Nord. The number of clinically suggestive cases seen in town medicine increased in weeks 16 and 17 with respectively 35 and 30 cases estimated. Health officials say the situation is being closely monitored. Regarding emergency visits, it remains moderate with three visits. “This disease is characterized by a maculovesicular rash, most often preceded by general malaise with a moderate fever.” In Saint-Barthélemy, no evocative case has been recorded in city medicine since the beginning of February. _EH
