Visit // Climb aboard the three-masted "Sorlandet": it's possible Sunday from 10h to 16h at the port of Galisbay!

The “Caribbean Sail Training” association is organizing this Sunday February 9 from 10 am to 16 pm an exceptional day with the visit on board for the general public of the training ship "Le Sorlandet". An event not to be missed under any circumstances!

The three-masted vessel will be moored at the pier in the port of Galisbay. Visitors must park their cars outside the port, transport being provided by a shuttle service.

For the record, the "Sorlandet" is the oldest and most authentic fully rigged vessel in the world still in active service to date.

The ship was built in 1927 in Kristiansand, Norway, as a training sailboat dedicated to the training of young people in the merchant marine.

As the demand for regular training for young sailors decreased in the 70s, the three-masted vessel expanded its activities to accommodate the general public on board. The name Sorlandet comes from the southern region of Norway meaning "the southern land"._AF
