Visit: The executive meets active gendarmes and reservists


Monday, the Prime Minister, Édouard PHILIPPE, accompanied by a delegation composed of the Ministers of National Education, Mr. Jean-Michel BLANQUER; from overseas, Annick GIRARDIN; des Sports, Laura FLESSEL and the Secretary of State to the Minister for Europe and Foreign Affairs, Jean-Baptiste LEMOYNE, continued his official Post-Irma visit to Saint-Martin and Saint-Barthélemy. The opportunity for the executive to meet the active gendarmes and reservists stationed in Saint-Martin.

Welcomed within the Gendarmerie Brigade of Quartier d'Orléans by General Jean-Marc DESCOUX, commanding the gendarmerie of Guadeloupe and the North Islands, in the presence of Colonel, Arnaud GIRAUD, Lieutenant Colonel, Sébastien MANZONI, commanding the Company from Saint-Martin and Saint-Barthélemy, he was able to exchange views with reservist gendarmes from the Compagnie de Réserve Territoriale (CRT). Aware of the effort made by these volunteers, on behalf of the Government, he declared that they were grateful, considering them "as fully-fledged gendarmes" because of their sacrifice in this deployment.

It was also an opportunity to see the extent of the damage through the destruction of the buildings of military families.
