On August 26, the Executive Council voted on several decisions relating to the development of the territory's sports spaces: the development of the Jean-Louis Vanterpool stadium, the development of the Savane sports area, the development of the Tennis Club of Sandy Ground, the development of the football field in Grand Case and the creation of a sports area in Cul de Sac.
• Jean-Louis Vanterpool stadium will benefit from a renovation program including the replacement of the natural grass pitch by a synthetic grass lawn, the construction of a wall adjoining the former site of the Nina Duverly school and the stadium, as well as work for storage some water.
The total amount of this work is 1 €, it will be carried out within the framework of the State / COM convergence plan.
• The Savane sports area will benefit from a site surveillance system, standardized reception for associations using the structure, the creation of toilets for users, lighting and parking facilities.
The total amount of these adjustments is € 200, a 000% subsidy will be requested from the State under the State / COM convergence contract.
• Sandy Ground Tennis Club will benefit from a surveillance system, a new Club-House space, a standardized reception for user associations and toilets.
The total amount of these improvements amounts to € 369, a 150% subsidy will be requested from the State under the State / COM convergence contract.
• Grand Case land will benefit from a surveillance system, a secure space and a standardized reception for user associations and toilets.
The total amount of these improvements amounts to € 250, a 000% subsidy will be requested from the State under the State / COM convergence contract.
• The Collectivity plans to create a sports area in Cul de Sac in order to restore a balance in terms of sports equipment on this part of the island. It is a question of rearranging part of the space left by the former Soualiga college. The plot next to the lagoon will be used to set up tennis courts, a street workout (urban bodybuilding), a Volleyball / Beach volleyball area, a street basketball area, a skate park area, carbets, benches and general lighting, specific lighting in play areas.
The total amount of this operation is 1 €, a 500% subsidy will be requested from the State under the State / COM convergence contract.
