Chickenpox: increase in cases

0

The chickenpox epidemic began last month in Saint-Martin. The clinically suggestive cases “sharply increased” during weeks 12 and 13, with respectively 55 and 80 cases estimated among general practitioners, indicates the latest epidemiological point of the CIRE (Interregional Epidemiology Unit) Antilles. Regarding the number of emergency visits, it remains “moderate”. CIRE has also published recommendations recalling, among other things, that vaccination is contraindicated during pregnancy and that it should be avoided within one month of vaccination. In Saint-Barthélemy, no clinically suggestive case has been seen in city medicine since early February. _EH
