Last Friday, from 18 p.m. to 20 p.m., a large vehicle control operation was carried out by the gendarmes in the Bellevue and Hope Estate sectors with the aim, among other things, of looking for weapons.
“A hundred vehicles and occupants were checked”, specify the police. If no firearm was discovered during this so-called “punch” operation, the gendarmes arrested a person in an irregular situation as well as a motorist in violation of excessive speed.
Other operations of this type will be carried out regularly. They aim to “produce security through an increased and particularly visible presence of law enforcement on the ground”. _AF
