The St. Maarten Police (KPSM) Traffic Department is investigating an accident which took place on Arlet peters Road on Tuesday May 17th at approximately 15pm (Old Cake house road).
Preliminary investigations indicate that the driver of a cream-coloured Kia Picanto was speeding down a hill towards Colebay. The driver was also overtaking several vehicles. He then lost control of his vehicle and ended up in the bushes.
With the help of firefighters, the driver was freed from his vehicle. Ambulance personnel administered first aid and transported the victim to Sint-Maarten Medical Center (SMMC).
The driver was injured in the chest and face, but his injuries are not life-threatening.
