Validation of experience acquired: creation of a branch in Saint-Martin

A partnership agreement between the Collectivity and the GIP DAIFI of Guadeloupe (public interest group, academic integration, training and engineering system) was signed last Friday at the Hôtel de la Collectivité. A branch of the DAVA (academic device for validation of prior learning) will be opened in Saint-Martin, within GRETA, to support professionals in their efforts.

This agreement between the COM and the GIP DAIFI is part of an observation: the VAE device (validation of acquired experience) remains unknown to the general public in Saint-Martin. Julien Antoine, academic coordinator responsible for the DAVA, explained in a press conference that "this process of recognition of skills makes it possible to obtain a diploma in National Education". This antenna creation “will allow us to support a maximum of people. I'm sure there are a lot of people with skills who don't know what to do or how to do it, ”added Janine Hamlet, principal of the lycée des Iles du Nord, president of GRETA in Saint-Martin and Saint-Barthélemy. "The DAVA therefore takes care of this whole validation process," said Gatibelza Gilda, director of GIP DAIFI. The president of the Community Aline Hanson took the opportunity to launch an appeal to people exercising a professional activity in a specific field for more than three years “to have their professional experience validated by a diploma of National Education. The culmination of this process can be a source of personal and professional development for young people and all active people ”. Those interested in this system are invited to go to the official website at the following address: www.francevae.fr, tab Guadeloupe.
