According to the Sint-Maarten tourism ministry, Stuart Johnson, the Panamanian airline Copa Airlines is expected to operate four flights a week to Sint Maarten during the next tourist season.

The air carrier will resume flights from December, announced the Minister of Tourism of Sint Maarten and the director general of the airline, Pedro Helbron, at a meeting which took place recently.

Minister Johnson said Sint Maarten continues to make significant progress in receiving visitors, including through ongoing dialogue with international partners. Johnson says their trust in Sint Maarten is proof that the destination is among the best in the world.

Minister Johnson's meeting with Copa Airlines officials is considered important as it is the only Latin American air carrier that plays a crucial role in the development of the tourism industry of Sint Maarten in the South American market . Tocumen International Airport in Panama is an important hub and is also one of the main gateways for travelers from Latin America to the Caribbean region._RM
