Reinforced traffic in Saint-Martin for Air France

The airline company Air France will gradually strengthen its direct route between Paris and Saint-Martin, until reaching a daily rhythm in the fall not seen since September 2017 and the passage of Hurricane Irma.

From July 3 until September 4, 2019, the French national company will add to the three weekly rotations of its low-cost subsidiary Joon between its base in Paris-CDG and the airport of Sint Maarten-Princess Juliana (SXM) fourth flight on Wednesday, operated by Airbus A330-200 (40 passengers in Business class, 21 in Premium and 147 in Economy). Departures will then be scheduled according to Airlineroute Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Saturday at 10:30 a.m. to arrive at 13:35 p.m., return flights leaving the Dutch part of Saint Martin at 15:45 p.m. to land the next day at 6:05 a.m. Joon operates an A340-300 (30 + 21 + 227) on this route, in competition with Air Caraïbes.

From October 27 still according to the same source, this line will be offered every day in A340-300 from Joon, against five times a week planned so far. The schedules will be similar, with departure from Paris at 10:30 a.m. and return from Saint-Martin at 16:50 p.m.

Remember that the SkyTeam alliance company suspended the line to the Caribbean island during the winter of 2017-2018 following the passage of Hurricane Irma, which devastated the region and in particular the airports of Saint-Barthélemy and Saint Martin-Grand Case (SFG). Princess Juliana's service had been transferred to Joon last summer, but the low-cost subsidiary will soon disappear - at least its legal status and brand name, the flights continuing to be insured (its four A340s will not be repainted until their planned fleet exit by 2021, and its five A321s and eight A320s will only be phased out).
