On the occasion of the first edition of the SXM Futsal Challenge, organized by the SXM Sport Mouvement association from Friday 23 to Sunday 25, FC Arawak of Saint-Barthélemy made the trip to Saint-Martin to participate in this first tournament.
It was with a team revamped and reinforced by players from AS Gustavia and Team FWI, that FC Arawak came to play and defend their chances. The team performed very well and after four group matches, the Saint-Barths qualified for the semi-finals on Sunday morning. Lack of availability of players over the three days of competition, the team was unable to participate following the semi-finals.
The organizers of the tournament and the Saint-Martin teams praised the great prowess of the Saint-Barth team who played at a high level, with intensity, commitment and suspense. The Saint-Barths thank the organizers of the tournament "where respect and friendliness were at the rendezvous", as well as the volunteers who participated in setting up the competition and the president of the Territorial Football Committee of Saint-Barthélemy .
