From October 8 to 10, 2024, the Saint Martin Tourism Board participated in IMEX America, one of the largest international trade shows dedicated to the MICE (Meetings, Incentives, Conferences, and Exhibitions) industry, in Las Vegas. During this unmissable event, the Saint Martin Tourism Board shared a booth in collaboration with the Tourism Boards of Anguilla and Sint Maarten, thus strengthening the synergies between the three destinations.
Several socio-professional partners were also present on the stand, such as Grand Case Beach Club, SXM Vacances, Lagoon Group, Simpson Bay Resort, Aurora Anguilla Resort, and JW Marriott. Together, they helped to highlight the assets of the three islands in terms of hosting MICE events, attracting the attention of many international players.
With over 120 one-on-one meetings held at the booth, the team had the opportunity to interact with MICE industry professionals from around the world. On October 8, a meet and greet was held, bringing together around ten agents, strengthening professional relationships with the players present.
The Saint-Martin Tourist Office also took the opportunity to meet with representatives of Atout France, including Gaël Wehner, head of business tourism for the United States, and Frédéric Mazenq, regional director for the United States, to discuss prospects for developing business tourism for the destination.
In addition to professional meetings, the Tourist Office team participated in several seminars and conferences on emerging trends in the MICE and communication sector, thus strengthening its expertise to better meet the expectations of event organizers.
As part of the trade show follow-ups, several webinars are planned in 2024, bringing together all the agents met during the event. During these webinars, the Tourist Offices of Saint-Martin, Anguilla and Sint-Maarten will present their respective destinations, and socio-professional partners will speak to present their MICE offers.
Participation in IMEX America strengthens Saint Martin's visibility in the international MICE market and confirms its commitment to developing this booming segment, which is essential for the local economy.
