Sea turtles: 2016 results

0

In 2016, ecovolunteers carried out 376 patrols on the territory's beaches from April to November. 235 traces of turtles, which came to lay on our coasts, have been identified, we can read in the latest edition of the Journal of the Nature Reserve. “60% of the 235 traces were spotted within two days of spawning activity, thanks to the frequency of patrols, and 53% of these resulted in spawning.” Baie Longue, Baie aux Prunes and Tintamarre are among their favorite sites. The follow-up kickoff for the 2017 spawning season took place last February. In order to sensitize the population to their protection, the 5e2 of the Mont des Accords college recently launched a campaign via a series of posters. _EH
