Theater & Gastronomy: Comedy Show 2 at La Toquée, conquered and satiated audience

0

The premiere of the Comedy Show 2 dinner show took place last Saturday at the Toquée restaurant in Hope Estate, the public left with charmed taste buds and stimulated zygomatics.

In these sometimes gloomy times, the formula of the dinner-show seduced the thirty people who took their seats in the dining room of the Toquée restaurant, impatient to taste the fine and delicious cuisine of chef Alexandrine and to be amused by the entertaining company Heads of Art. To start off this evening where the atmosphere was relaxed and good-natured, the crispy goat cheese, walnuts, grapes and honey on its nest of salad served as an appetizer, on its own, predicted an unparalleled sequel. The main course, entitled "chicken ballotine with leek fondue & sweet chorizo, forest sauce" finished convincing the public, ready to attend the string of sketches performed by the eight actors of the troupe. The lights dimmed, the show started, the laughter burst out. The writing of each sketch, signed by the company, is full of subtle puns and hilarious punchlines. The performers push their limits with admirable ease by portraying exuberant characters, the sketches follow one another at a speed that once again proves the degree of confidence and pleasure in playing together that reigns within this troupe. Connoisseurs of the first edition of the Comedy Show will have recognized two sketches that made an impression, including the famous inverted ode to Paulette, a nameless joke. The intermission allowing the actors to change costumes and the public to recover from their emotions gave way to the dessert which therefore closed the menu of Alexandrine, namely the traditional tarte tatin, whipped cream & vanilla ice cream, perfect to regain energy before the second part of the show. If all the performances deserve to be mentioned in detail (but let's keep the suspense), the highlight of Comedy Show 2 will remain the sketch tribute to Elie Kakou, interpreted by Laurence Blanc, incredible conductor of this talent pool, who reincarnates literally the Franco-Tunisian humorist, with a nod to the local press of which she alone has the secret. Have to laugh! _VX
