TENNIS / 8th edition of the Internationals: Women of Saint-Martin A good vintage 2017!

Despite the rain that invited itself during the final on Sunday, the 8th edition of the Internationaux Féminins de l'Ile de Saint-Martin was a great success both in terms of sport and attendance.

Throughout the week, a large audience was able to attend hard-fought matches, including two beautiful semi-finals during which the French, Estelle Cascino and Priscilla Heise won respectively before the Mexican, Giuliana Olmos (6 / 4, 7/5) and the American, Ashley Kratzer (6/7, 6/3, 6/2).

In the final, the Franco-French duel quickly turned to the advantage of Priscilla Heise, ranked 789th in the WTA, who did not have to force her talent to get rid of her opponent visibly in a day without. The No. 5 seed in the tournament (491st WTA), probably paralyzed by the stakes, has evolved below his true level of play.

Without the long interruption of the final due to the rain, Priscilla Heise could have completed her match in less than an hour (6/2, 6/2).

At the end of the award ceremony in the presence of the president of the Guadeloupe Tennis League, Christian Forbin, the president of the TCISM Osé Saint-Louis Gabriel received congratulations from Alain Gros-Désormeaux, Territorial Advisor of the Collectivity of Saint-Martin, in charge of Youth, Sports and Community Life for the perfect organization of the tournament with the entire team of volunteers present throughout the week. See you next year for the 9th edition! _AF
