Last Saturday May 15 marked the end of the 1st edition of the Marigot and Howell Center Merchant Open organized by the Tennis-Club Ile de Saint-Martin. The many scheduled finals delighted the public who came in large numbers to attend fiercely contested matches!
In terms of results, in the Consolante table, Eric Ziani dominated Bruno in straight sets.
The final of the 4th series table was won by Louis Manuel ahead of Renaud Julien.
Otherwise, the final of the Men's table (+35 years) saw the victory of Cédric Derrongs against Philippe Alonso following the latter's abandonment in the third set.
Surprise in the Ladies table, Christine Rousseaux dominated Laurence Lefranc who was never able to enter the game.
Finally, in the Open Men table, Mathieu grabbed the victory against Nicolas Jaume.
The awards ceremony allowed the president of the Association of Traders of Marigot, Yann Lecam, the president of the TCISM, Osé Saint-Louis Gabriel and the treasurer of the club, Abdel to reward the winners and finalists with many gifts offered by the tradespeople. There followed the sharing of a cocktail in a friendly atmosphere.
The Tennis-Club Ile de Saint-Martin would like to thank all the partners for their generosity and for the trust placed in the TCISM. Thanks which also go to the competitors who offered great encounters. A special mention to Philippe Alonso who masterfully led this first tournament.
