TESTIMONY / Violence against women: “we can get up”

0

This is particularly the case of Louisiana Richardson, victim of domestic violence in her previous relationship, who agreed to deliver a few words on the reasons for her presence.

“I was in a violent relationship with a man who regularly hit me in front of my children. He punched me, burned my clothes, and smashed everything in the house. I dared not talk about it and hid it from my family and friends. One day he threatened me with a gun. It was the time too many. I took refuge with my grandmother and I did everything to get rid of this relationship. It was very complicated but I succeeded and I managed to talk about it. I found support from a social worker, I also took some friends with me so that they too could manage. Today I encourage all women victims of violence to talk about it because we can get up. We need to show solidarity between women and break this silence because there is too much violence, ”says Louisiana. Faithful to the event since its first edition, it is very proud of its accomplishment and continues to find comfort with support organizations. (soualigapost.com)
