The “SXM Tri Académie” triathlon club recently organized an Aquathlon in Grand-Case, with the help of Love Beach. An original sporting start, with a new way of discovering combined events (swimming and running).
Aquathlon is a discipline in which are linked several times, a swimming and running test without interrupting the stopwatch.
The 1st Love Aquathlon of "SXM Tri Académie" enlivened the seaside of Grand-Case, in a very friendly atmosphere, with more than 50 participants at the start. Note that the swimming took place between Love Beach and the pontoon, the pedestrian part being planned on the beach.
On the program of the festivities: 2 races for young people, 100 m of swimming and 300 m of running (a short effort but sufficient to discover the discipline).
For their part, the older ones had to perform 3 times (individually or in a team) 270 m of swimming and 1,3 km of running.
In terms of results, Séverin Guérard won ahead of Greg Pigeon and Fabrice Bouquet.
On the women's side, the final victory went to Roxane Boquet.
Finally, in the youth, Romane Tchirhart won the event (junior girls) and Kai Piscione, in the junior boys category.
