SNSM station of Saint-Martin: A human life is priceless, but its rescue at sea has a cost!

0

Those who listen to the news on the national media have certainly heard a repetitive call for donations on the occasion of the national day of rescuers at sea, this Sunday June 28, via the website www.snsm.org, drawing attention people on the fact that this donation is tax deductible at 66% on income or corporate tax.

But this is only valid for Metropolitan France and the Overseas Departments, subject to the national tax regime.

The Collectivity of Saint-Martin has its own Tax Code which provides for a tax deduction reduced to 20% for donations to eligible national associations, but increased to 80% for donations to associations or organizations located in the territory of the Collectivity .

If you are a taxpayer  of the Collectivity of Saint-Martin, wishing to support the operation and actions of the sea rescue station, you are therefore advised to draw up a check payable to the SNSM station of Saint-Martin, which will send you , upon receipt, the corresponding tax receipt. A donation of 400 € for example, will ultimately only cost you 80%, after tax deduction.

If you are not a taxpayer of the Collectivity, you can send your donation directly to the National Headquarters of the SNSM, via the site www.snsm.org, but specifying to assign it to the rescue station of Saint-Martin .

Also note that prevention, training and rescue at sea actions as well as the upkeep, maintenance and management of the Saint-Martin station are funded at more than 95% by initiatives or private sponsors. So it's indisputable: the first rescuer is you, the donor! Without you, without your donation, the volunteers of the SNSM station of Saint-Martin could not fulfill their missions of public utility.

Thanks for them !
