St Maarten: You must change your license plates before February 28

02-02-18-taxiIn Sint Maarten, vehicle owners must pay the Motor Vehicle Tax every year. 

At the start of the year, they must pay it to the government and in return, a new plaque is given to them. This year, the Sint Maarten administration services welcome the public since January 3. Wednesday January 31, the government of Sint Maarten reminds on its Facebook page that owners of vehicles registered on the Dutch side have until February 28 to pay the tax. The amount of the tax is unchanged in 2018. For a private vehicle (registered M) with petrol, it is 275 Naf to which must be added 12,50 Naf corresponding to the price of the two plates. This amounts to the owner paying 287,50 Naf or 160,67 dollars.
