SPA / Exiles from Saint-Martin find their faithful companions!

0

Thanks to the Society for the Protection of Animals (SPA), the repatriation of animals that their owners had been obliged to leave in Saint-Martin after the passage of Irma was carried out last week in Orly.

Three months that they had not seen their animals. And on the airport tarmac, the emotion was palpable. Indeed, last week, residents of Saint-Martin who had evacuated the island urgently after the passage of Irma, were able to recover in Orly the animals they had been forced to abandon.

Touching reunion…

Repatriated as a matter of urgency by the French army then by airliners chartered specially for the occasion, many families could only take a few effects. But when it was necessary to board the military plane, the latter had to leave half of it. The same fate was reserved for animals which are, in these cases, temporarily adopted by family or friends who have stayed behind.

"Immediately we thought of setting up something so that these animals find their owners," explains Tamar Guelton, volunteer at SPA. Very happy to be able to pet their companions again, the survivors say they are lucky. "We lost everything," they sum up. The fact of finding our faithful companions gives us a new life! "

Did you say touching reunion?_AF
