Congratulations to all the winners!
The education service for the communities of Saint-Barthélemy and Saint-Martin organized, last Thursday, at the Saint-Martin media library, the “Year of Sport” awards ceremony in collaboration with the association USEP Iles du Nord , the UNSS and the Collectivity of Saint-Martin.
For this 2015-2016 school year, the Ministry of National Education, Higher Education and Research has promoted the practice of sport among young people and mobilized the educational community around European and sporting values as part of a “Year of sport from school to university”.
In this context, the education department promoted the students, classes and schools of Saint-Martin who were involved in the various meetings and sporting events organized by the USEP Iles du Nord, UNSS and the teaching teams. All the USEP sporting events were labeled “year of sport”, in particular the “Olympiads of the values of the Republic” meeting which received the “year of sport” award from the Ministry of Education among 35 national projects.
Mrs. Coutant Marie-Hélène, head of the prefecture social cohesion pole, representing the delegated prefect and Mrs. Questel Rollande, territorial advisor, representing the president of the Collectivity congratulated the students and teachers for their sporting commitment. Mr. Dominique Boyer, Inspector of National Education, encouraged the educational teams who made this “year of sport” very active and dynamic in Saint-Martin.
During this ceremony, to highlight the 2 special prizes awarded to the CM2 class of Andy Armongon (Nina Duverly) for their work as student-organizers and young reporter and to the USEP Sailing class of Frédéric LE VOT (Emile Choisy ), 4th in the virtual regatta.
A nod also to the associative partners who were valued for this year of sport: CTSM, Rugby Union, Avenir Sportif, FC Marigot, Saint Martin football league, Dream of Trail, Saint-Martin Extreme Runners and ABSM .
Finally, a big thank you to the media library and the Collectivity of Saint-Martin for their contributions to the promotion of students, classes and schools. AF
