Company: Screening of the film “An exceptional woman” with the Soroptimist club of Saint-Martin

From November 25 to December 10, 2019, the Soroptimist club of Saint-Martin participates in the fight against violence against women by joining the 7th cinema operation of the Union française of Soroptimist International.

For the past 7 years, in mainland France and overseas, film screenings have been organized generally followed by moments of discussion and debate with spectators and specialized speakers to discuss issues relating to violence against women. The funds collected during these screenings are used for community projects in the field in the fight against violence.

This year, The film “Une femme d'exception”, by Mimi Leder, with Felicity Jones (“Inferno”, “Rogue One a Star Wars Story”), will be screened on Tuesday December 10, 2019, at the Opale room of the CCISM at 19 p.m. (ticket price: € 10), and will give rise to exchanges and debates between field professionals and spectators.

Under the impulse of their association known worldwide for their various actions for the equality of women, girls and children, bringing together more than 75 women in the World, Soroptimists are everywhere, in France and Overseas, at at the heart of the action, by allowing meetings, partnerships between the various associations, decision-makers and the public.

  Who are the Soroptimists?

Soroptimists are active women, committed professionals, who aim to improve the living conditions of women, girls and children, by giving them access to education, empowerment and leadership.

Organized in clubs, they are committed to their community. Through targeted actions, they raise funds, support causes, lead initiatives to support and finance projects directly or in partnership. Created in 1921, this NGO represented at the UN and in its agencies today has more than 75 members and 000 clubs in 3 countries and intervene in the fields of education, empowerment and leadership, the fight against violence, the environment and health. _AF
