From December 12 to 16, 2022, President Louis Mussington and his teams received the firm "Etudes, Observation, Habitat et Statistiques" (EOHS), holder of the public implementation contract, in order to officially launch the Local Program of the Habitat (PLH) of Saint-Martin.
This approach, supported by the Délégation Cadre de Vie and its 2nd Vice-President Bernadette Davis, reflects the will of the territorial authority to carry out an ambitious policy in favor of housing, in partnership with institutions, socio-professionals and more broadly the population. The direction of this housing policy is set by the Local Housing Program (PLH).
Lasting 6 years, this program aims to meet the housing needs of the inhabitants of the territory, through the principles of "living together" supported by our territory, in particular the right to residential choice, whatever the situation. family, professional or social.
It must respond to the major challenges of the increase in construction costs, the precariousness of households, the very strong pressure on social housing, access to land, the improvement of housing conditions, the ecological transition by defining housing policy objectives and concrete actions to achieve them.
The development of the PLH will take place in 2 main phases:
• Carrying out a territory diagnosis, in order to know the situation of housing and accommodation on the territory (supply in terms of private and social housing, individual and collective housing, analysis of the land markets and the land supply), as well as the needs of the population.
• The definition of strategic orientations Saint-Martin's Housing policy over the next 6 years, based on trends resulting from the diagnosis, and the definition of the action program.
Throughout the process, different actors (residents and partners) will be involved and consulted to co-construct the document and shed light on the different themes.
