Suspension of emergency food aid for new applicants

0

For a few days, the Red Cross has decided to suspend all emergency food aid for new applicants from Saint-Martin.

The association did not wish to communicate on the subject or specify whether this decision was linked to a recent fight. According to our sources, overflows have interrupted the distribution of food stamps by the family solidarity pole in mid-October. However, the Collectivity did not answer our questions or confirm this information.

Launched last March, this device, which took the form of shopping bags distributed to beneficiaries with a card, has evolved. Since August 1, families have had to collect food purchase coupons from the Pôle Solidarité Familles and partner associations.

The Red Cross should, however, maintain this emergency food aid for at least three months to those already benefiting. (Source: www.soualigapost.com)
