0

The Guadeloupe Volcanological and Seismological Observatory (OVSG-IPGP) published its report for January 2017. Regarding regional telluric activity, the observatory recorded, in a region of 450 km around Guadeloupe, a total of 123 earthquakes of tectonic origin, of maximum magnitude 4,3. Between Saintes and Dominica, 61 earthquakes have been identified of small magnitude. In contrast, for the Northern Islands, no earthquake was felt. Regarding the volcanic activity of the Soufriere of Guadeloupe, the observatory indicates that 38 earthquakes of volcanic origin, under the dome, were located less than 2 km deep. If you experience an earthquake, you are invited to report it: franceseisme.fr. _EH
