The tragic accident occurred last Wednesday, around 18 p.m., near the airport runway at Maho, on Beacon Hill road.
According to testimonies collected by the police, several people were hanging on the barrier of the airport compound when an airplane was about to take off. It was a Boeing 737 departing for Trinidad.
A 57-year-old woman, a tourist from New Zealand, was blown away by the power of the plane's engines and seriously injured. His head had hit rocks according to reports. Rescue teams quickly arrived on site and took her to the Sint-Maarten Medical Center. Unfortunately, the XNUMX-year-old died from his injuries.
