At around 3:10 a.m. last Sunday, a serious traffic accident occurred on Welfare Road in which four women were seriously injured.
Very quickly arrived at the scene of the accident, the rescue teams found four women stranded inside the vehicle. Police and paramedics managed to extract two people from the car. First aid was given to them on the spot before evacuating them to Sint Maarten Medical Center.
In the following minutes, the firefighters intervened in turn to extract the two other women, still stuck in the vehicle. The latter were taken to Sint Maarten Medical Center in critical condition.
According to the first elements of the investigation, the driver lost control of her vehicle due to excessive speed. It then hit a concrete block on the side of the road, and damaged two cars parked nearby.
