A man died of his injuries last Saturday in hospital after being shot several times in the Dawn Beach area. The alleged perpetrator of the shots, an aluminum installer from the French side was arrested by Dutch police shortly after the incident.
On Saturday May 8, around 21:30 p.m., shots were fired at Dawn Beach. Upon arrival, the police discovered an injured man in his vehicle. Initial findings indicate that the man had gunshot wounds to his lower limbs.
The shooting victim received first aid from paramedics, before being transported in critical condition to Sint Maarten Medical Center. According to the first elements of the investigation, the victim had an altercation with an individual, who then shot him. Injured, the victim joined his vehicle to try to get away from the scene.
