SINT MAARTEN: HELP FOR THOSE WHO HAVE LOST THEIR EMPLOYMENT DUR TO COVID-19

The Ministry of Finance of Sint Maarten in accordance with the economic support plan, the "Sint Maarten Relief and Economic Stimulus Plan" or SSRP, has implemented a monthly allowance of 650US $ for people who have lost their job due to the consequences of COVID-19 and which are eligible according to the following criteria:

- Have worked in the Dutch part of Saint-Martin where the job was lost due to COVID-19.

- Be able to justify their status as unemployed as a result of COVID-19.

- Have a local bank account.

In order to benefit from extended assistance, applicants must submit their documents and an application form. People who think they can benefit from “COVID-19 unemployment assistance”, must submit on the site www.ssrp.sx/unemployed, the following documents :

- A completed online COVID-19 unemployment assistance application form.

- A copy of the valid passport / identity card.

- The ORIGINAL letter of redundancy, on company letterhead with the company stamp and the “Crib Number”.

- The last payslip.

Unemployment assistance applications have been open since April 24, 2020. To be eligible for assistance for the month of April, applications must be submitted before May 10, 2020. You only need to make one application to continue to receive aid for a maximum of three months.

An assistance service has also been set up to answer all questions on the official "SSRP" website at www.ssrp.sx.
