President Daniel Gibbs had the pleasure of receiving, last Tuesday, three students from the 5th grade 2 of Soualiga college (Cité scolaire Robert Weinum), as part of their work on Press Week at school.
Accompanied by the Principal of the college, Mr. Frigo, their teacher, Mr. Sophie and Ms. Evelyne Fleming, project manager to the representative of the rector of the Academy, the three college girls were given the task of carrying out an interview on the theme chosen this year, "The information without borders? " Beforehand, Mr. Patrice Sophie's class had been made aware of information and communication techniques and of discovering the profession of journalist, through the production of a newspaper.
The President of the Community willingly lent himself to the exercise of questions and answers by answering the three questions asked on the quality and plurality of information as well as the multiplicity of communication media. Somewhat impressed, the young students held their role as journalist, photographer and interviewer, and will highlight their work in the newspaper Le Pélican which devotes a special edition (March 26) to press week, the 30th edition of which takes place this year from March 18 to 23.
President Gibbs praised the involvement of all the students in grade 5 and their teacher and recalled how much he appreciated these enriching meetings with the young generation; he also undertook to visit the class before the end of the school year.
