Road Safety: More than 200 young people made aware of the risks associated with driving a motorized two-wheeler

The Road Safety Forum, dedicated specifically to the fight against dangerous behavior that generates bodily and fatal accidents on two wheels on the roads of Saint-Martin, took place on the Concordia Sports Center on October 13 and 14. This event responds to the multiple accidents and dangerous behaviors observed on the road network.

More than 200 young people took part in these two days organized within the framework of the City Policy led by the Prefecture of St Barthélemy / Saint-Martin and the Collectivity. These young people from the Mont des Accords college and Concordia associations have been trained and made aware of the fight against addictions (alcohol and drugs),  the specific highway code for scooter drivers. The teenagers were also able to train on a two-wheel simulator of the judicial protection of young people and acquire good practices on a motorized course arranged by a partner driving school.

The “SXM Road Safety” Association collaborated with the Cobraced and Sucrerie associations, as well as the Judicial Protection of Youth to carry out this project for the benefit of Saint-Martin youth.

Similar actions are planned in the Sandy-Ground neighborhoods,  Orleans district and the Savane sector in the coming months.
