Security: The CCISM invites traders to approach the security referent

0

The CCI Saint-Martin, faced with the resurgence of burglaries on businesses in the territory, encourages traders to consult the security referent of the national gendarmerie. A service that is free.

The CCI Saint-Martin invites companies in Saint-Martin to get closer to the security referent of the national gendarmerie who will be able to assess the risks and the means of protecting themselves. “For each establishment, these face-to-face meetings, in situ, make it possible to draw up a safety assessment of the premises, the alarm devices and the protection of the walls and people. Following this awareness, case-by-case recommendations are established”, informs the CCISM. “Prevention provides protection against damage to property or persons. Understanding the security of one's business is an important part of its economic development, especially if its or its activities present risks”.

A few tips :

– The mechanical protection of openings (perimetry) must be in line with the sensitivity of the premises (bars on windows/metal curtains for doors associated with electronic detection). Early detection will make it possible to reduce the damage provided that the alert chain is efficient when an alarm is triggered (result in 17 quickly). A siren audible and visible from the public highway will have a dissuasive effect.

– This first curtain must be systematically doubled by electronic detection (volumetry) in the premises and the more we go towards the heart of the target (chest room for example) and the more we will harden the protective elements (doors and associated solid walls electronic detection (opening/shock/seismic).Depending on its sensitivity, the safe must be sealed in the rules of the art and sometimes welded to a metal plate whose width will prevent it from passing through the openings .

The fragility of roofs and basements must also be taken into account in the overall defense strategy. A vulnerable roof will allow a prepared offender to enter a room, especially if the interior of the latter is not equipped with electronic detection, so it is very important to understand all the architectural specificities of the building to be protected.

– The electronic systems management core must be installed in a room that is itself protected.

– CCTV is a very effective tool if it is integrated with the devices mentioned above. For example, alone, it will not be able to compensate for the low resistance of the openings. Well thought out, it will be a deterrent and an aid to the investigation. It will possibly make it possible to remove any doubt remotely in the event of a break-in (choice to be made). It is mandatory to declare a system to the prefecture when it takes into account the areas where customers and the public gravitate. Offices, stores, and other professional premises do not fall within the scope of the declaration because they are considered private places (labour code). This declaration must be renewed every 5 years.

– Other devices exist, for example, fog diffusers which are triggered when a malicious presence is detected. _pc
